Print Byndoor, June 21: Minister for Women and Child Development and Udupi district in-charge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar said that the efforts of the youth workers was enough there for the Congress party to come to power in the state.
Addressing the Youth Congress office-bearers at Byndoor Congress office in Udupi, she said, Congress is a party of the poor. She said that the party always thinks about the poor.
The contribution of the Gandhi family to the nation is immense. Two of the three prime ministers from the Gandhi family have sacrificed their lives for the country. If Rahul Gandhi had his way, he would have come to power in 2004. Jawaharlal Nehru was born in a very rich family, but he sacrificed his life for the country, she said.
Youth Congress workers should be involved in the party organisation, I have also worked as a booth agent, counting agent. She was given the ticket for her work for the party. At present, there is only one woman minister in the cabinet. Siddaramaiah and the Congress party have given me an opportunity.
Former MLA Gopal Poojary, who lost in the last elections, has not left the party. He always thinks about people’s problems.
