Parents-Teachers Meeting at National High School: A Heartwarming Interaction of Minds and Hearts

After a spell of heavy rains and a series of unexpected holidays, the skies finally cleared and the sun shone brightly, casting a warm and cheerful glow on Thursday, 19th June 2025. This timely change in weather seemed to reflect the vibrant spirit at National High School, as the campus buzzed with energy and anticipation for the much-awaited Parents-Teachers Meeting, organized for students of Classes VIII to X.

The programme commenced at 2:30 PM, as Headmistress Mrs. Hemavathy P.S. and her dedicated team warmly welcomed parents to their respective classrooms. There, parents engaged in fruitful one-on-one discussions with class teachers and subject instructors, exchanging feedback, academic updates, and aspirations for their children’s holistic development.

By 3:00 PM, everyone gathered in the School Auditorium for the formal session. The event opened with a soulful prayer rendered by the melodious School Choir, setting a serene and respectful tone. Mrs. Hemavathy then extended a warm and cordial welcome to the assembled guests and parents. In her address, she proudly shared the school’s outstanding performance in the Class X Board Examinations, achieving a remarkable 100% result, consecutive 3rd year—a feat that places National High School among only 53 top-ranking aided institutions out of more than 3,000 high schools in Karnataka. This moment of pride was met with a thunderous round of applause from the gathering.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of The Barkur Educational Society, delivered a thoughtful and inspiring message, emphasizing the collaborative role of parents, teachers, and students in the educational journey. His speech, rich with anecdotes and real-life examples, especially resonated with the mothers present, reminding them of their pivotal role in shaping disciplined and value-driven youth.

Mr. Archibald Furtado, Administrative Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, spoke with deep admiration for the school’s 79-year legacy. He described the institution as a “temple of learning” that has consistently produced exemplary citizens. He extended heartfelt congratulations to the Headmistress and her team for their commitment and commendable results.

Adding to the academic perspective, Mrs. Jyothi Shetty, Senior Science Teacher, addressed the audience with genuine warmth and compassion. She thanked the parents for their ongoing collaboration and support, which she described as vital to the students’ success.

The meeting concluded with a crisp and reassuring presidential address by Mr. Gopala Naik, who appreciated the trust and enthusiasm shown by the parents. He assured them of a nurturing and enriching learning environment in the coming academic year.

In a delightful wrap-up, Sanskrit teacher Mr. U. Prabhakar proposed the vote of thanks, peppered with his unique insights and graceful expressions. The event was masterfully compered by Kannada teacher Mr. Maruthi, whose witty sayings and engaging style kept the atmosphere lively and enjoyable throughout.

Also gracing the dais was the newly elected PTA President Mrs. Jayalakshmi, marking the beginning of a new chapter in parent-school collaboration.

The meeting concluded on a sweet note with refreshments and tea served to all, fostering informal conversations and strengthening the bond between parents and the school community.

National High School once again reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, community engagement, and the holistic development of its students. The Parents-Teachers Meeting was not just an event, but a celebration of shared values, trust, and the unwavering journey towards a brighter future.
