Udupi: In the interest of the safety and well-being of school children, a special inspection drive were conducted from 07:00 am to 12 noon on 19/06/2025 and school vehicles will be checked in all the police station limits of the district.

As many as 930 vehicles were checked during the drive. A total of 282 cases have been registered. Fine of Rs 1,58,000 collucted. The cases include 1 for drunken driving, 39 for not having proper documents, 48 for overloading and 194 other cases. Five Inspectors of Police and 30 Sub-Inspectors of Police will participate in the drive.

In this regard, the concerned school managements have been strictly instructed to register all the vehicles of the school, the number of children according to the limit of the vehicle and adopt other safety measures within a week and if all these facilities and registrations are not corrected within a week, the concerned school vehicles will be seized.

ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲಾ ವಾಹನಗಳು ಅಜಾಗರುಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷತನದಿಂದ ಚಲಾಯಿಸುತ್ರಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿತದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ದಿನಾಂಕ 19/06/2025ರಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 07:00 ಗಂಟೆಯಿಂದ 12 ಗಂಟೆಯ ವರೆಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ತಪಾಷಣಾ ಡ್ರೈವ್‌ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲಾ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟು ನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ವಿಶೇಷ ತಪಾಷಣಾ ಡ್ರೈವ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 930 ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ತಪಾಸಣೆ ನಡೆಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಟ್ಟು 282 ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ರೂ. 1,58,000/- ಫೈನ್‌ ವಿದಿಸಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾನಮತ್ತ ಚಾಲನೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ 1, ಸರಿಯಾದ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದದೇ ಇರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ 39, ಓವರ್‌ ಲೋಡ್‌ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ 48 ಹಾಗೂ 194 ಇತರ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.ಈ ವಿಶೇಷ ತಪಾಷಣಾ ಡ್ರೈವ್‌ ನಲ್ಲಿ 5 ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕರು, 30 ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ ಉಪನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂಧಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.   

ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಶಾಲಾ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಾಹನಗಳ ದಾಖಲಾತಿ, ವಾಹನದ ಮಿತಿಗನುಗುಣವಾಗ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೇ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದು ವಾರದ ಒಳಗೆ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ದಾಖಲಾತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದು ವಾರದ ಓಳಗೆ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೇ ಇದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಬಂಧಿತ ಶಾಲಾ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಸೀಜ್‌ ಮಾಡುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಆದೇಶ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
