Udupi, 11th June 2025: Panambur Venkatraya Aital is a big name in the cultural field of the coast. An all-round expert Yakshagana artist, art teacher, art patron, top-level talent. He had embodied his own unique personality through Bhagavatika, Chende, Maddale, Vesha and Arthadariya. He also made unique achievements in the fields of priesthood and astrology. The Panambur Venkatraya Aitala Cultural Foundation, which was started in his memory, started the Tenkuthittu Yakshagana class from March 2017 with the blessings of Sri Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Sri Padara of Sode Math.

The free Tenkuthittu Yakshagana class being run by the Panambur Venkatraya Aitala Cultural Foundation has successfully completed eight years with the blessings of the Yatis of Sri Sode Math. Its 8th year anniversary and the Panambur Venkatraya Aitala Memorial Yakshagana Week and Ashtavadhana program (at 2.30 pm) will be held at the Rajangana of Sri Krishna Math, Udupi. The inaugural program will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM.

The inaugural program will be held in the divine presence of Sri Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada &Sri Sri Susrindra Theertha Sripada of the Paryaya Sri Puttige Math of Udupi Sri Krishna Math, and Sri Sri Sachchidananda Bharathi Sripada of Edaneer Math. The chief guests of the program will be Sri Lakshminarayana Asranna, hereditary priest of Kateel Kshetra, Sri M Prabhakar Joshi, senior Yakshagana thinker, Dr Ramakrishna Pejattaya, Bala, President of Yakshagana Kalaranga Sri Gangadhar Rao, Convenor of Yakshanandana, Panambur  Sri Santosh Aital, Karnataka Bank DGM Sri Vasanth Herale.

Senior Yakshagana artist Sri K Govinda Bhat, former president of Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy Prof. M L Samaga, senior Yakshagana Bhagavata Sri Kuriya Ganapathi Shastri, senior Bhagavatar Polya Lakshminarayana Shetty and senior Yakshagana Himmela artist Padyana Shankaranarayana Bhat will be felicitated. Panambur Venkatraya Aitala Cultural Foundation President Smt Gopika Mayya, members Sri Satish Mayya, Sri Siribagilu Ramakrishna Mayya and Yaksha Guru Sri Rakesh Rai Adka will be present.

Then, a Tamra Dhwaja Kalaga Yakshagana performance will be held by the senior guest artist of Tenkuthittu. Every day from 7.00 pm, a Yakshagana performance will be held by the students of Panambur Venkatraya Aitala Cultural Foundation under the direction of Shri Rakesh Rai Adka.

The closing ceremony will be held on Saturday, 21st at 7.30 pm. Then, Girija Kalyana Yakshagana will be performed by the students of the Pratishtana

The Panambur Venkatraya Aitala Cultural Foundation is providing free Tenkuthittu Yakshagana training to more than 100 students through Samartha Guru Sri Rakesh Rai Adka. The class is being held every Wednesday evening from 5.30 to 7.30 at Sode Math. From this year, Tenkuthittu Chende and Maddale classes are being started every Saturday evening from 4.00 to 7.00. Senior Himmela artist Kateelu Sri Muralidhar Bhat will provide training. It will be inaugurated on this occasion. Interested  are requested to take advantage of it.
