Illegal sale of liquor in public place near old KSRTC bus station Udupi, one arrested

Udupi, June 11: On 11.06.2025, the Inspector of Police, Udupi City Police Station, on receiving information that liquor was being sold in a public place near Asha Bar near the old KSRTC bus stand in Moodanidambur village in Udupi Taluk, raided the place and arrested the accused, Shambhulinga Madivala (37), father of Somappa Madivala, Uliyadi, Ranebennur, Haveri, for illegally selling liquor in a public place for his own benefit without any license.
Rs. 2,600 / - worth packets of different brands of liquor and Rs. 3,960 / - cash has been seized.
A case has been registered under sections 96/2025, 32 and 34 of the Excise Act.
The accused has been arrested and will be produced in the court.
