Rural children around Barkur make the beginning of New Academic Year 2025-26 in National Educational Institutions.
At the National Higher Primary School, Hanehalli, Barkur New Batch of Class I Students and other Fresh Admissions were welcomed with Warmth and Joy, on 2nd June, 2025.
The National Higher Primary School campus in Hanehalli, Barkur was abuzz with joy and renewed energy as it welcomed its students back after the long summer vacation. A festive atmosphere enveloped the National Educational Campus as students of the PU College, High School, and Primary School joyfully reunited with friends and teachers, bringing life back to classrooms and the sprawling playground.
The day held special significance for the tiny tots of Class I and other new entrants, who began their academic journey in the warm embrace of the National family. Despite a week of pre-monsoon showers and cyclonic conditions, the weather turned bright and welcoming, perfectly complementing the special occasion.
Head Master Mr. Udaya S Shetty, along with his dedicated team of teachers – Ms Shailaja, Ms Navyalatha, Ms Suma, had meticulously prepared a vibrant and welcoming environment for the fresh batch of young learners and their parents. At 10:00 a.m., the first School Assembly of the academic year was held, marking the ceremonial beginning of the new session.
During a brief but heart-warming welcome ceremony, teacher Ms Shailaja extended a cordial welcome to all gathered—parents, students, and distinguished guest Mr. Archibald Furtado, Administrative Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions. In a touching gesture, the Head Master and his staff offered fresh roses to the ten newly admitted students, who gleefully introduced themselves during the assembly, adding a personal and memorable touch to the occasion.
Textbooks were distributed to students, setting a productive tone for the year ahead. Parent representatives expressed their appreciation for the care, concern, and dedication shown by the Head Master and staff especially teachers Ms Shailaja, Ms Navyalatha and Ms Suma and others in the previous academic year.
In his address, Mr. Furtado thanked all parents for their unwavering trust and support. He highlighted the institution’s proud legacy of providing quality education ‘from KG to PG’ within a serene, unified campus. Speaking to the young children, he said, “Your teachers here are more than just educators—they are your parents in this home of learning and joy.” He wished all students a happy, fulfilling, and result-oriented academic year.
He also explained the parents present, the uphill task of rural Institutions, a result of the sacrifices of our elders was a light to life for hundreds, now struggling to survive need their support to continue its mission as admissions are open in all the Six National Institutions – National Primary Schools in Heradi and Hanehalli, SVVN English Medium High School in Heradi, National High School, Barkur, National Industrial Training Institute, Heradi and National PU College, Barkur.
Adding a personal touch to the event, Mr. Udaya S Shetty, who had recently toured Thailand and East Asia in May, presented special souvenirs—including wristwatches—to his colleagues as a token of appreciation and goodwill.
The celebration concluded on a sweet note as all attendees were served sweets and malt, making the day even more special and memorable in the lives of the young learners and their families.
