Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte Kallianpur, Inaugurates Catechism Academic Year 2024-25 with Solemnity and Joy

Santhekatte, Kallianpur – June 1, 2025:Mount Rosary Church gave a spirited and devotional start to the Catechism Academic Year 2024-25 on Sunday with a beautiful inaugural celebration steeped in faith and enthusiasm.

The Holy Eucharist at 8:00 AM marked the beginning of the new catechetical year. The solemn Mass was led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza, along with Fr. Rohan Muscarenhas, the Assistant Parish Priest, and native Fr. Carnelio as co-celebrants. The entire liturgy was meaningfully animated by the parish children from Class I to X, who participated with admirable devotion and joy.

A symbolic and touching highlight of the day was the entrance procession at the beginning of the Mass. A banner depicting the theme of this Jubilee Year of Catechism, on a path of hope in faith, was reverently carried to the altar, accompanied by a tree bearing the same message—signifying growth, faith, and rootedness in Christ.

In his concluding message, Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza extended a warm welcome to all the catechism teachers and introduced them to the congregation. In a gracious gesture, Rev. Fr. Rohan Muscarenhas honored each teacher with a fresh rose, symbolizing appreciation and encouragement for their dedicated service in nurturing the faith of the young.

The Parish Priest further announced that regular catechism classes would commence from Sunday, 8th June 2025 at 8:00 AM, followed by a special Mass for children at 9:15 AM, marking a new chapter in the spiritual and religious formation of the parish youth and children.

It was a vibrant beginning set a joyful and faith-filled tone for the year ahead, inspiring children, parents, and teachers alike to journey together in love, learning, and the light of Christ.
