Udupi, May 30: Folklore has no boundaries of caste, creed and religion. It is the responsibility of the youth to preserve and develop folklore, Balaji said.

He was speaking at Dr B B Hegde First Grade College in Kundapur on Thursday. The programme was inaugurated by Dr B B Hegde First Grade College, Kundapur in association with Shivaram Karanth Trust, Udupi district.
The chairman of the Dr Shivaram Karanth trust Gananatha Shetty said that Sivarama Karanth, through his writings, was engaged in creating not only the coastal culture but also the intellectual and scientific consciousness along with it. To impart knowledge to the students. This is the main objective of Shivaram Karanth Trust.
Thinker Mushtaq Hennabail participated as resource person. He delivered a lecture on the life, works and environment of Shivaram Karanth. Sivarama Karanth had a special concern for the environment even in his younger days. It plays an important role in creating awareness in the society.
Poornima, member secretary of Dr Shivaram Karanth Trust, presided over the programme.

In this case, a renowned folk scholar, Prof. Kanaradi Vadiraj Bhat released the water folk book. Dr. Sivarama Karantha Trust Member Dr. Bharti Maravanti spoke preliminarily.

Prof. K. Umesh Shetty, Principal of the college presided over the program. 

In the program, Dr. Sivarama Karantha Trust Member Dr. Prasad Rao, members of the Editorial Board of Water Folklore, the faculty and non -teaching staff of the college, students and others were present. 

Dr. Sivarama Karantha Trust Member Dr. Chetan Shetty Kovadi welcomed the audience and Sukumar Shetty, assistant professor in the Kannada department of the college compared the programme.  Reshma Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
