Mysore May 23 : In government hospitals with more experience and more experienced doctors are available. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that government hospitals are getting quality treatment.

He was speaking at the inauguration of chemotherapy care centers at Metakali District Hospital today. Chemotherapy centers have been opened in 16 district hospitals in Karnataka. Mysore has opened 20 beds and other 10 beds. These centers were announced in last year’s budget. Many people had to go to Kidwai Hospital in Bangalore for cancer treatment. He said chemotherapy centers have been opened to avoid this.

70,000 people are suffering from cancer every year in the state. All of them had to go to Kidwai Hospital in Bangalore to seek treatment. Chemotherapy centers have been opened in 16 district hospitals to treat them. He has lived 10, 15, years of treatment with chemotherapy. If cancer comes, who should not be confused? He said that everyone should be fully checked, though, once a year.

When I came to power in 2013, 5kg rice was given free of charge to BPL card holders for free. When it came to power in 2023, it was increased to 10kg. Everyone should get an education. All should get medical education and medical services equally. Everyone should be economically empowered. Previously there was no district hospital in Mysore district, no Jayadeva Hospital. I started these in Mysore after I came to power. Mysore District Hospital is being provided with MRI Scanning.  He informed that dialysis was provided in 240 centers in the state.

The 5 guarantee projects I have given are available to all classes of people. No guarantee plans are based on any caste religion. Guaranteed plans have been implemented with concern about the poor. He said that there are Rs 1.22 crore family women and free electricity is being provided to Rs 2000 and 1.63 crore families.

Dinesh Gundurao, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, said that many poor people are struggling to seek medication for cancer. They have no money to treat them. So Cancer Treatment Kidwai Hospital has been set up in Bangalore. It will be set up in Mysore in the next few days. Cancer disease comes from the food we use, our lifestyle. It was very difficult for the poor to go to Bangalore for cancer treatment. Recognizing this, 10 beds’ chemotherapy care centers have been opened in 16 district hospitals.

K Harish Gowda, a MLA from Chamaraja Assembly constituency, said that Siddaramaiah, the chief minister, have been credited with making all kinds of health services available in Mysore. If Nimans Hospital comes to Mysore, all kinds of health care will be available. Earlier, 300 students had the opportunity to be at the Maharani Hostel. Now 2900 students are allowed. Kidwai Hospital will come to Mysore in the next few days.

Naveen Bhat, Director of the National Health Campaign, said, "Today we are establishing an important milestone for cancer treatment. Cancer patients should come to cancer hospitals for hundreds of kilometers. Kidwai, therefore, informed that Hub will be treated through hospitals.

The program was attended by Minister of Social Welfare and Minister of Social Welfare, HC Mahadevappa, Member of the Vidhan Sabha. Thimmayya, Dr.  Yatindra Siddaramaiah, Museum Exhibition Authority Chairman Ayub Khan, District Collector G Lakshmikanta Reddy, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S Yukesh Kumar and Mysore City Police Commissioner Seema Lotkar were also present.
