Udupi, May 19 : The Indian Meteorological Department/ Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Center, Bangalore, has been instructed by the District Disaster Management Authority as a forecast of rainfall in some parts of the district for the next 3 days (May 20 to 23).
Farmers should stay away from agricultural activity in case of rain/sidelines. The public, children and workers should take refuge in the right building, and tourists and fishermen should take care of the river, water and sea.
In this case, children and the public should not swing near a dangerous tree and power pole and stay away from the crushed electrical wires. Never stand up to a fragile or old building or near trees and under the trees. All of these elements must be followed by thunderstorms, lightning and rain winds.
The public may remain at the nearest care center as a precautionary measure if necessary. For more information, call to the office of the Disaster Management Control Room 1077, Telephone Number: 0820-2574802 or the respective Taluk Tahsildars’ Office.
District and Taluk level officials, assigned nodal officials and members of the local body’s Disaster Management Committee are mandatory and the disaster is being handled by District Disaster Management Authority Chairman K Vidyakumari said in the announcement.
