Manipal, May 12, 2025: Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), successfully conducted the 4th National Conference on Clinical Laboratory Education and Research (NACCLER 2025) centered on the theme "Driving Innovation Through Industry-Academia-Research Synergy."

Dr. Raviraja N.S., Chief Operating Officer of MAHE, inaugurated the conference as chief guest, emphasizing the necessity of skill-based training for allied health professionals and said, “Skill-based training is not just a component but the foundation of developing expert allied health professionals. In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, the collaboration between technical expertise and practical application is essential to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. Our commitment at MAHE is to foster this integration, ensuring our graduates are not just degree holders but skilled practitioners ready to contribute meaningfully to healthcare advancements from day one”.

Guest of honor Dr. G. Arun Maiya, Dean of MCHP, said, “At MCHP, we recognize the industry-academic partnerships are vital to advancing healthcare solutions that address real-world challenges. These collaborations create a symbiotic ecosystem where theoretical knowledge transforms into practical innovations, research findings translate into clinical applications, and industry insights inform our educational curriculum.”

Dr. Saritha Kamath U, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology and organizing chairperson, welcomed participants. Dr. Kalaivani M, the organizing secretary, provided an overview of the conference, while Dr. Anju M, co-organizing secretary, proposed a vote of thanks.

The aim of the event was to provide a platform for professionals to exchange knowledge and explore collaborative opportunities in advancing laboratory medicine and research. The conference was conducted in hybrid mode, focusing on strengthening synergies between academia, research, and industry in medical laboratory science. Around seven distinguished speakers, four from academia/research and three from industry (Anderson Diagnostics, Equitron, and Thermo Fisher Scientific)—shared their expertise, with five presenting in person and two joining virtually.
