Udupi, April 26, 2025: On the eve of International Noise Awareness Day A Free Noise Induced Hearing Loss Camp will be conducted on April 28th, 29th, 30th 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, at Dr. T.M.A. Pai Hospital, Udupi. This initiative is jointly organized by the Department of ENT and the Department of Speech & Hearing, aiming to promote public awareness and provide early diagnosis for individuals experiencing hearing-related issues due to exposure to loud sounds.

During this camp, participants will receive thorough evaluations of both hearing and balance functions. Additionally, expert guidance will be offered for any required follow-up management, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need for their auditory health

These services are designed to help people who are exposed to loud sounds, whether from occupational noise, listening to music at high volumes, or the frequent use of regular earphones or earbuds. People attending the camp will also benefit from free consultations and a 20% concession on diagnostic investigations, which will remain valid until May 15th, 2025.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Shashikiran Umakanth, Medical Superintendent of Dr. TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi, said, “Noise-induced hearing loss is increasingly affecting people of all age groups, including adolescents and young adults. We particularly encourage students, industrial workers, musicians, and the general public, especially those frequently exposed to loud sounds, to take advantage of this camp and prevent long-term complications.”
