Udupi, Apr 26: Under the auspices of Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association, a tribute meeting was organized at Udupi Press House on Saturday, April 26, for the recently departed member of the association and journalist Sandeep Poojary.

Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said, "The birth is accidental, but death is certain. Between birth and death, only the love earned by the way a person lived in society will last forever. Only the love earned by the way a person lives in society between birth and death is eternal. We have lost a great journalist. He is a person who is loved by all. He said that the society should stand with the family of a talented person who grew up with the hard work of a poor family.
Udupi district working journalists association president Rajesh Shetty Alevoor said, "Sandeep’s demise is an irreparable loss to our association. When he was injured in the accident and was battling for life for 21 days in the hospital, the members of the association and donors have contributed a huge amount of financial help as per the appeal of the association. He said he was grateful to all of them.

President of Udupi Taluk Guarantee Implementation Committee Ramesh Kanchan, general secretary Nazeer Polya, convenor of silver jubilee committee Mohammed Shareef Karkala, president of Brahmavar Taluk Association Rajesh Achlady, senior journalists Shashidhar Mastibailu, Nagaraj Rao, Janardhan Kodavoor, Raheem Ujire, Harish Pallechar, Chetan Matapady, Parikshit Shet, Sandeep Poojary’s sister Sarita and others were spoke and gave the condolences.

The financial assistance collected from the district and taluk associations and donors was handed over to Sandeep’s family. Sandeep’s mother Jalaja, father Vittal and other family members were present on the occasion. Journalist Deepak Jain compered the programme.
