Udupi, Apr 24: The district-level coordination committee formed by the Hon’ble Justice HN Nagamohandas one-man inquiry commission to conduct a survey on various aspects of the Scheduled Castes, has directed the officials to successfully conduct the survey of the Scheduled Castes families. Vidya Kumari said.

She was speaking in the video conference hall of Kesavan, Deputy Commissioner’s office, Manipal Rajathadri, here on Wednesday. He was speaking after chairing a meeting of the district-level coordination committee for the survey of data on various aspects of the Scheduled Castes by the N. Nagamohan Das One-man Commission of Inquiry.

She said that the work of collecting and surveying data on various aspects of Scheduled Castes in the district in three phases from May 5 will be done by school teachers and the public should cooperate with the teachers who come for door-to-door data collection.
A district-level core committee, headed by the District Collector and comprising the District Collector, the Sub-Collector, the Joint Collector and other district-level officials, has been formed to oversee the arrangements. The Deputy Director, Department of School Education and Literacy has been asked to depute field education officers and head teachers to supervise the survey. Panchayat Development Officers and Taluk Nodal Officers should supervise the survey at the gram panchayat level.
According to the family data, the family-wise numbers in villages and cities will be calculated and information will be provided to the taluks through Gram Panchayat / Village / Ward-wise PHCsstudies / Iogities. Accordingly, the teachers were asked to conduct a survey.

There is a population of more than 75,000 of Scheduled Castes in the district and about 1000 to 1100 enumerators are required to conduct the survey, for which teachers of the education department should be appointed, he said. Be sure to participate in the training.
He said that all the departments should work in coordination as per the directions and guidelines issued by the government from time to time to make the survey work successful.
Additional deputy commissioner, Anuradha, assistant commissioner, Shilpa Nag, Akrama Sakrama committee president, Ashok Kumar Shetty, all district level officers, tahsildars and taluk panchayat executive officers were present at the meeting. District Collector Ashok Kumar and other senior officials attended the meeting.
