Print Udupi : Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesperson Veronica Cornelio said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to hike the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas was a slap in the face of the Janakrosh Yatra called by the state BJP leaders.
Does the Congress government in the state have an answer to the BJP leaders who are crying foul over the hike in prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas? BJP leaders need to explain to the people of the state why the central government is increasing the prices of petroleum products despite the fall in crude oil prices in the international market.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been critical of the Congress party’s guarantee schemes, has given a key guarantee to the people of the country with the increase in oil and gas prices. The prices of petrol, diesel, groceries and vegetables are skyrocketing, she said.
"If the BJP, which claims that prices have increased in the state, is genuinely concerned about the people, then it should first put pressure on the central government to bring down the prices, otherwise the day is not far when the people will teach a lesson to the BJP leaders in the state," she said in a statement.
