Udupi, Mar 18: The SSLC (Examination-I) examinations for the year 2025 will be held from March 21 to April 4 at a total of 51 examination centers in the district. In order to ensure smooth conduct of the examination and to prevent any malpractices during the conduct of the examination, the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the District Magistrate, has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2003, declaring 200 metres around the examination centers as prohibited area and closing down xerox shops around the designated examination centers.

Any gathering of more than five persons, or groups of persons, other than the examinees and the officers and staff engaged in the conduct of the examination, and entry of unauthorised persons into the examination centers is prohibited.

Xerox shops, cyber centers, bookstalls and photocopiers falling within 200 metres of the examination centers will be closed. The use of loudspeakers is prohibited during the examination. Media persons will be allowed to shoot only during the entry and exit of the candidates to the examination centers on the day of the examination.

Candidates appearing for the examination in a non-identifiable dress are required to cooperate with the frisking staff and invigilators of the examination hall at the examination center. All the candidates appearing for the examination are required to undergo a hand-held metal detector test conducted by the Commission. Metal water bottles or non-transparent water bottles are not allowed inside the examination hall.

Mobile / cellular phones, tablets, pen drives, Bluetooth devices, smart watches, calculators and any other electronic devices or log tables, wallets, purses, notes, chargers. Carrying any other type of equipment, including spare sheets or recording material, inside the examination center is prohibited.

It is mandatory for the candidates wearing hearing aid equipment to undergo a complete special check-up two hours before the commencement of the examination along with the medical records.

Candidates must follow the dress code prescribed by the Karnataka Public Service Commission in the admit card. All the candidates / staff will not be allowed to carry mobile phones and other communication devices. Candidates must follow the instructions given by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). The said order shall not apply to the officiating Examination Officer / Staff and Police Officers. The prohibitory order will remain in force during the examination period from March 21 to April 4 around the jurisdiction of the designated examination centres, a release from the Deputy Commissioner’s office said.
