A Step towards a Brighter Future
Marking a historic milestone in its journey towards excellence, the century-old Shrimati Rukmini Shetty National Higher Primary School, Heradi - Barkur inaugurated its newly developed interlocking facilities on 10th February 2025. This significant infrastructural enhancement, executed at a cost of ₹5 lakhs, was generously funded by Manipal Payment Incorporated Solutions, Manipal, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

With the school poised to celebrate its Centenary Jubilee in December 2025, this project symbolizes its commitment to providing a safe, modern, and student-friendly learning environment.

Inauguration Ceremony: A Grand Occasion
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, with the official inauguration conducted by Mr. Shantarama Shetty, Chairman of The Barkur Educational Society (BES), and the Chief Guest, Mr. Ronald D’Souza, in the presence of office bearers, proud alumni, parents, well-wishers, and students.

A Warm Welcome & Special Addresses
The program commenced with a prayer hymn by the school children, invoking divine blessings. This was followed by a heartfelt welcome address by the school correspondent, Mr. A. Ratnakar Shetty, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, sponsors, and stakeholders for their unwavering support in enhancing the school’s infrastructure.

Insights from Distinguished Guests
Dr. K. Venkataramana Udupa, a renowned educationist, researcher, and a proud alumnus, lauded the initiative, emphasizing the crucial role of modern infrastructure in academic success. He also acknowledged the sponsors for their generosity.

Mr. Prakash Shetty, President of Yedthady Village Panchayat and an alumnus of the school, extended his appreciation, encouraging further developmental efforts.

r. S. Karunakar Shetty, Chairman of the School Centenary Celebrations (1925–2025), nostalgically recalled his school days and expressed pride in the transformation of the institution into a modern, well-equipped educational hub. He urged parents to encourage enrolment, ensuring a brighter future for the school.

Honouring the Generous Sponsors:
A highlight of the event was the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Mr. Ronald D’Souza, Senior HR Manager of MPI Solutions, Manipal. He was honoured with a traditional shawl, garland, peta, and a memento as a token of appreciation.

In his address, Mr. D’Souza emphasized the significance of corporate contributions in fostering educational growth. He expressed his admiration for the school’s progress, wishing for it to evolve into a centre of socio-cultural and academic excellence.
Presidential Address: A Vision for the Future:

In his inspiring presidential address, Mr. Shantarama Shetty, President of BES, praised the school’s proactive approach towards infrastructural development. He highlighted how a well-maintained campus positively impacts students’ learning experiences and urged continued support from corporate and community stakeholders.
