Annual Parish Feast of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte Kallianpur - Celebrated with Grandeur and Devotion on 8th January 2025

The much-awaited Annual Parish Feast of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte Kallianpur, was celebrated with immense fervour and devotion on Wednesday, 8th January 2025. The feast, a cherished tradition, brought together families, friends, and faithful parishioners to thank the Almighty and seek the intercession of their beloved Patroness, Our Lady of Holy Rosary, for her abundant blessings.

Solemn Festivities Mark the Day:

The bright and sunny morning commenced with a formal welcome to the Pirjenth family Mrs Jacinta Lilia Fernandes, St Joseph Ward at 10:00 AM, a cherished tradition that highlights their significant role in the parish’s history and culture. This was followed by the distribution of candles at 10:10 AM, honouring the dedication and service of office bearers, Gurkars, Presidents of pious organisations and members of the Parish Pastoral Council.
The highlight of the celebration was the Festal Thanksgiving Mass, which began at 10:20 AM. The grand liturgy was presided over by Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General of the Udupi Diocese and Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur. In his homily, Msgr Gonsalves extended his heartfelt festal greetings to the Rosarians and reflected on the importance of coming together as a community to express gratitude for the Lord’s blessings through Mother of Christ our Patroness…He gave simple but effective examples of our own mothers and their sacrifices and compared it to heavenly Mother who always takes care and concern for her children….

The Eucharistic celebration was further enriched by the presence of several guest priests close to couple of dozen from the deanery and neighbouring parishes The brass band procession added a joyful touch, while the Church Choir directed by Mrs Jovita Fernandes and her cohesive team, and the days Liturgy especially led by Assistant Vicar Rev. Fr. Oliver Nazareth and Sr. Ancilla Roshni D’Mello, beautifully rendered hymns, prayers of the faithful… that uplifted the liturgical atmosphere.

A Day of Unity and Gratitude:
Despite being a weekday, the spacious church was filled to its capacity, a testament to the strong faith and devotion of the parishioners. Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza, the Parish Priest, conveyed festal greetings to all present and expressed gratitude to those who contributed tirelessly throughout the year and during the week-long preparations. He also remembered those unable to attend, ensuring everyone felt included in the celebrations. The     Pirjenth Family was specially honoured with decorated Candles by Vicar General, for their support and contribution.

Fun and Fellowship:

Adding a festive flair to the occasion, the youth organizations ICYM and YCS organized various games and stalls, creating an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie. The church premises buzzed with excitement as parishioners of all ages participated enthusiastically. The evening too will be expected to be thrilling with popular Tulu Drama ‘Aastami’ at 7.00 pm.

A Feast to Remember
The Church was adorned with elegant decorations and radiant lighting, exuding a sense of majesty and reverence. The festive ambiance, combined with the spiritual significance, made the day truly special for all attendees.
