Udupi : Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College to celebrate Platinum Jubilee from November 29 to December 1, 2024, said B. P. Varadaraya Pai, Secretary of Academy of General Education (AGE).

Addressing a press meet held at Udupi Press Club near here on Wednesday, BPV Pai said that on Nov. 29, College Trustee T. Sathish U Pai will inaugurate the ‘Amruth Sauda’. Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Math will be present during the Amruth Sauda inauguration. At 9.30am, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vidyakumari will inaugurate the ‘Exihibition’ and meanwhile she will release the Post Card. Yashpal Suvarna, MLA, Registrar of AGE Ranjan R Pai, TMA Pai Foundation President Ashok Pai, MGM College Trustee Vasanthi R Pai, AGE President and Pro-chancellor Dr H S Ballal, Pro Vice Chancellor of Mahe Narayana Sabhahit, Dr. Niranjan V of Bengaluru North University will present during the occasion.

He said that felicitation programme will be held for administration members, former Principal’s, professors and non- teaching staff of the college from 2pm.

Degree College Principal Dr. Laxminarayan Karanth said that on Nov. 30, Shobha – yatra procession Jyothi will be handover by Paryaya Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puttege Math at 8.15am and Dr. Ranjan Pai will flag of the Shobha Yatra. At 11.30am, MGM Nenapu programme will be held and followed by Screen pictures of MGM College history will be placed.

Cultural programmes will be held by the students as well as old students will be held on December 1 followed by valedictory function will be held from 3.30pm. College Trust president T. Sathish U Pai will preside over the programme. Pejawar Math Pontiff Sri Vishwaprasanhatheertha Swamiji will bless the occasion. District in-charge minister and Minister for Women and Children Empowerment Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P K Dharma, Zonal Education Department Joint Director Prof. Ramegowda, DDPU Maruthi are chief guests. In the evening after 5.30pm, “Sangeetha Programme” will be held by Kumari Medha and Vidyabhoosana.
