STUDY TOUR BY NATIONAL PU STUDENTS TO MANIPAL.
On 15th November, the Biology students of National PU College, Barkur, embarked on an educational study tour to Manipal. The group, led by Ms. Sowmya, Lecturer in Biology, explored three key destinations: the Dr. TMA Pai Anatomy Museum, Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village, and the Planetarium.
Dr. TMA Pai Anatomy Museum
The students began their tour at the Dr. TMA Pai Anatomy Museum, one of India’s most well-equipped museums for medical sciences. The museum houses a vast collection of anatomical specimens, including human and animal organs, skeletons, and models. The visit provided the students with a unique opportunity to observe the intricacies of human anatomy, complementing their theoretical knowledge with practical insights.
Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village
Next, the group visited the Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village, a meticulously restored collection of traditional Indian houses, cultural artefacts’, and heritage structures. The students were enthralled by the blend of history, architecture, and culture showcased here. The visit offered an enriching experience, giving the students a deeper understanding of India’s diverse architectural heritage and lifestyle practices of the past.
Nehru Planetarium
The final destination was the Planetarium, where the students explored the wonders of astronomy and space science. The immersive show on celestial bodies, constellations, and the universe left the students fascinated and curious about the mysteries of space. The interactive exhibits further sparked their interest in scientific exploration beyond biology.
Conclusion
The study tour was an educational and enriching experience for the students. It not only enhanced their knowledge of biology and related sciences but also exposed them to history and astronomy, fostering a multidisciplinary learning approach. Under the guidance of Ms. Sowmya, the students gained valuable insights that will undoubtedly aid their academic and personal growth.
