Udupi : On behalf of the Udupi District Congress Committee and the Udupi District Minority Congress Unit, the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated by lighting a lamp at the Congress Bhawan, Brahmagiri, near here on November 14.  

On this occasion, leader Nagesh Kumar Udyavara remembered Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s contribution to India and said that the development of the country is due to the development thought of Jawaharlal Nehru as the first Prime Minister. Later, Dinkar Hairur, Chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authority, said that due to Nehru’s industrial revolution, today India is recognized at the international level. Because of Nehru’s great love for children, his birthday is celebrated as Children’s Day.

District Congress leaders Narasimha Murthy, Harish Kini, Udupi District Minority Unit President Sharfuddin Sheikh, Udupi Block Congress Committee President Ramesh Kanchan, leaders Jyoti Hebbar, Annaiah Sherigar, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyur, Sheikh Waheed, Riaz Byndur, Laxmikant Beskoor, Laxman Pujari, Uday , Satish Kumar Manchi, Satish Kodavoor, Venkatesh Perampalli, Farooq Chandranagara, Abubakar Udupi, Shamshuddin Mazur, Gopal Bangera, Manna Iqbal, Sadiq Hooda, Nazir Nejaru, Sridhar Shet, Archana Devadiga, Prashant Suvarna, Surya Salyan, Nagendra Putran, Wilson Sequeira, Sajjan Shetty, Sanjay Acharya and others were present.
