Udupi, Nov 13 : Udupi Bar Association and Udupi Courts & Bar Quasquicentennial Celebration Committee to organize celebration of 125^th Anniversary of Udupi Courts and Bar Association on Sunday, the 17^th November, 2024 at Udupi Courts premises at 10am.

Addressing a press meet held at Udupi Town Hall premises, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Chairman of Udupi Courts & Bar Quasquicentennial Celebration Committee said that as per the history of Udupi Courts, the first court procedures were held at the capital of coastal town, Barkur and later the courts premises transferred at Udupi town. Prior to the celebration of 125^th anniversary, Udupi Bar Association celebrated respective 25, 50 and centenary celebration with grandeur.

Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that 125^th anniversary will be held in the presence of Hon’ble Mr Justice S. Abdul Nazeer, His Excellency the Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Former Judge, Supreme Court of India which will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Aravind Kumar, Judge, Supreme Court of India. The celebration will be presided by Hon’able Mr Justice N. V. Anjaria, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka. Hon’ble Mr Justice E S Indiresh, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Administrative Judge for Udupi district will release of Souvenir.

He said that H. K. Paril, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism, Government of Karnataka and Mr. Sthish Jarakiholi, Hon’ble Minister for Public Works Department, Government of Karnataka will the special guests on the occasion.

Guests of Honor will be Hon’ble Justice M G Uma, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Hon’ble Mr Justice Ramachandra D Huddar, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Hon’ble Justice Venkatesh Baik T, Judge, High Court of Karnataka. The special invitees will be Mr Shashikanth S. Shetty, Advocate General, Government of Karnataka, Mr. K. S. Bharath Kumar, Registrar General, High Court of Karnataka and Mr. Kiran S Gangannavar, Principal district & sessions Judge, Udupi district.

Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that prior to the inaugural programme, grand procession will begins from Jodukatte junction to Udupi Courts premises. After the inaugural programme seminars and lectures will be held. The cultural programmes by Udupi, Kundapur, Karkal Bar Associations and cultural programme will be held by students of Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, Udupi. In the evening after 7pm Folklore Extravaganza by Kalamayam, Udupi will be held.

Meanwhile valedictory function will be held on Monday, the 18^th November, 2024 at 4.30pm which will be presided by Hon’ble Justice S Vishwajith Shetty, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Hon’ble Mr Justice E S Indiresh, Judge of Karnataka High court and Administrative Judge for Udupi district will give the valedictory address.

Hon’able Mr Justice Shivashankar B Amarannavar, Judge, Karnataka High Court, Hon’ble Mr Justice C M Joshi, Judge of Karnataka High Court and Hon’ble Justice T G Shivashankara Gowda, Judge of Karnataka High court are the chief guests. Special invitee will be Mr. Kiran S Gangannavar, Principal, district and Sessions Judge, Udupi district.
