Manipal, India – Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is excited to present Inspire Junior, a cornerstone of MAHE Research Day 2024, dedicated to sparking scientific curiosity in young minds. Taking place on November 15 and 16, 2024, Inspire Junior is a unique program specially crafted for students in grades 8 to 12 and their parents, offering an unforgettable journey into the world of research and innovation. Hosted at KMC Greens, Manipal, this two-day event aims to inspire students and provide families with an in-depth view of the transformative opportunities within the fields of science and technology.
At the press conference on November 12, 2024, MAHE’s leaders emphasized Inspire Junior’s mission. Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor of MAHE, highlighted the significance of this event, stating, “Inspire Junior is an extraordinary initiative aimed at igniting a passion for discovery in young students. It is about showing them the vast possibilities in science and helping them envision a future where they can make meaningful contributions to society. At Inspire Junior, students have a chance to step into the world of research, not just as spectators but as active participants in a stimulating, hands-on environment. It’s an opportunity for students to learn, engage, and see what a future in science can truly look like.”
Dr. Sharath Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor – Health Sciences, added, “Inspire Junior is about nurturing the next generation of learners by giving them real-world exposure to a variety of academic fields. In addition to hands-on scientific activities, students and parents can explore various stalls representing MAHE’s wide academic offerings, including commerce, Communication, Technical, liberal arts, humanities, law, management, media studies, design, psychology, Social Sciences and hospitality. We encourage all attendees to visit these stalls and gain a comprehensive understanding of the diverse educational paths MAHE offers, fostering excitement about the broad possibilities within our institution. Through interactive experiments, lab tours, and direct engagement with our faculty, we aim to create an environment where students feel inspired to explore and pursue their passions across all disciplines.”
The Inspire Junior experience is packed with activities designed to make science come alive for young learners. This immersive program also includes interactive exhibits and competitive quizzes and ideation challenges, where students can test their knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills in fun and meaningful ways. By meeting MAHE’s researchers and seeing the impact of their work, students can envision a future in science and start their own journey of exploration and innovation.
Inspire Junior is part of the larger MAHE Research Day 2024 event, which includes Collaborate (November 13-14), an interdisciplinary research expo, and Enrich (November 13-14), a showcase of MAHE’s premier research resources and infrastructure. These programs provide a platform for professional collaboration and resource sharing, further enriching the university’s vibrant research culture.
MAHE warmly invites students from grades 8 to 12, along with their parents and teachers, to participate in Inspire Junior and explore the boundless opportunities within science and research. This event is a testament to MAHE’s commitment to fostering a culture of curiosity and excellence in young minds, setting them on a path of lifelong learning and innovation.
