It appears that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still unable to recover from the nightmare of BJP’s crushing defeat in the Karnataka Assembly elections. Time and again, he drags Karnataka into his speeches, seemingly haunted by the state’s choice. How conveniently a politically motivated complaint from Karnataka’s liquor traders reaches him with lightning speed. Yet, the recommendation by a retired judge-led investigation committee to prosecute former CM B.S. Yediyurappa and Health Minister B. Sriramulu for COVID-era corruption appears to have evaded his attention. Prime Minister Modi, were you unaware that your own party’s government was profiting from people’s suffering during the pandemic?

Mr. Modi, the Contractors’ Association president personally complained to you about the 40% commission racket run by your party’s government, but you didn’t utter a word. A contractor committed suicide under duress from one of your ministers, and yet, no response from you. Why this selective silence? You shout "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao," yet fail to address the POCSO charges against a former Chief Minister from your own party for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl who visited his home. Why don’t you speak up?

Despite Karnataka successfully implementing the Guarantee Schemes with a 100% success rate, your party shamelessly publishes false advertisements in Maharashtra. Clearly, your lies inspire others to follow suit. If leaders themselves are deceitful, how can their followers uphold the truth? I once urged you to at least acknowledge the wrongs and seek forgiveness, but your silence is deafening. Why?

We understand that the success of Karnataka’s Guarantee Schemes bothers you, and you’re bent on undermining our progress. You block industrialists eager to invest in Karnataka, diverting them to Gujarat and denying justice to Kannadigas. You have reduced Karnataka’s share of taxes to stifle our revenue intentionally. During the elections, your party president J.P. Nadda warned that if BJP isn’t elected in Karnataka, Kannadigas will face the Prime Minister’s wrath. Today, his threat rings true, with your continuous injustice and disrespect towards our state.

Kannadigas will not endure your incessant insult and discrimination against Karnataka much longer. Mr. Narendra Modi, you are the Prime Minister of a united India, not just a campaigner for your party. Don’t disgrace the dignity of your office for partisan gains.
