Udupi : KPCC Spokesperson Veronica Cornelio has expressed outrage that the people are angry because of the chaos of Santhekatte National Highway Under Pass road work and the local MPs and MLAs are only visiting and making statements instead of taking heat to the central government for a permanent solution.

It has been three years since the construction of Santhekatte Underpass Road started, and proper precautions should have been taken while undertaking such a large-scale project. It is natural that problems arise while doing development work but it is the duty of the government to provide a suitable alternative system for the people.

An alternative service road was built for the people for the underpass work, and the old asphalt coating of the previous road was removed and it was also made in such a way that vehicles could not travel without proper leveling.

One part of the new road has been opened for vehicle traffic and the other part of the road has been closed near Santhekatte. At least, while making the new road, so many vehicles can pass through it, they have not strengthened the base of it, but have just laid asphalt on top of it and have done unscientific work and washed their hands.

The entire road has been washed away by a single rain and in today’s technology, the technology of laying asphalt on the road even in the rainy season, the negligence of the National Highway Department is evident. It is reprehensible that the MPs concerned have also behaved in a nameless manner.

Santhekatte Junction is always busy and the service road from near Santhe Market has been connected to the National Highway as an alternative.

What else but the negligence of the local MP’s and MLA’s has created a situation where people are risking their lives in the midst of vehicles during the Sunday weekly market? The public has not seen any kind of result on Santhekatte Road except for the statement and verification.

Even if the Santhekatte road work takes a couple of years, it is not surprising that until then the public and the motorists have to struggle, why the local people’s representatives and officials do not understand the problem. This situation is due to the people’s representatives not having control over the officials. This work is under the control of the central government and the previous parliamentarians have only done politics and run away from half of the constituency and have won another constituency and become a minister.

There was a feeling of hope that the newly elected MP’s are from this part and have understood the problem here. He also only visited the place but did not alert the authorities and make appropriate arrangements. It seems that there is a situation where even if the authorities are told, they do not care about their words.

The local Udupi MLA will make a statement on the issues of the country’s state at daybreak. Don’t you have the responsibility to go to the Union Minister after the people have voted for you and seek a suitable solution? MLA have completely neglected the Santhekatte road issue. In a press release, Veronica Cornelio requested the MP and MLA to come together and take the problem seriously and make appropriate arrangements.

ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಅಂಡರ್ ಪಾಸ್ ರಸ್ತೆ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿಂದ ಜನತೆ ರೋಸಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸದರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಸಕರು ಕೇವಲ ಭೇಟಿ, ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಪರಿಹಾರದ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಸಿಮುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ಬದಲು ಕಾಲಹರಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಕೆಪಿಸಿಸಿ ವಕ್ತಾರರಾದ ವೆರೋನಿಕಾ ಕರ್ನೆಲಿಯೋ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ಅಂಡರ್ ಪಾಸ್ ರಸ್ತೆ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡು ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇಷ್ಟೊಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಯೋಜನೆ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ಮುಂಜಾಗ್ರತಾ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು ಆಗುವುದು ಸಹಜ ಆದರೆ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವುದು ಸರಕಾರದ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅಂಡರ್ ಪಾಸ್ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಾಗಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ಸರ್ವಿಸ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿನ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಹಳೆಯ ಡಾಂಬರು ಕೋಟಿಂಗ ನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಸಮತಟ್ಟು ಮಾಡದೇ ವಾಹನಗಳು ಸಂಚರಿಸದ ರೀತಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ಹೇಗೋ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರು ಹಿಡಿಶಾಪ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಜನರು ಸುಧಾರಿಸಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಒಂದು ಭಾಗದ ಹೊಸ ರಸ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಭಾಗದ ರಸ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ಬಳಿ ಬಂದ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಪಕ್ಷ ಹೊಸ ರಸ್ತೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಇಷ್ಟೊಂದು ವಾಹನಗಳು ಸಂಚರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಬುಡವನ್ನು ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡದೇ ಕೇವಲ ಮೇಲಿಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಡಾಂಬರ್ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದು ಅವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೈತೊಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಂದೇ ಮಳೆಗೆ ರಸ್ತೆಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊಂಡಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದು ಇಂದಿನ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹ ರಸ್ತೆಗೆ ಡಾಂಬರ್ ಹಾಕುವ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಬಂದಿರುವಾಗ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯವರು ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಎದ್ದು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಂಸದರು ಕೂಡ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆಂಬಂತೆ ವರ್ತಿಸಿರುವುದು ಖಂಡನೀಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ಜಂಕ್ಷನ್ ಸದಾ ಜನನಿಬಿಡವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸರ್ವಿಸ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂತೆ ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಪರ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ರಸ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಡಾಂಬರ್ ಕೂಡ ಹಾಕದೆ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ವಾಹನ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಭಾನುವಾರದ ಸಂತೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ವಾಹನಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸದರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಸಕರಿಗೆ ಇರುವ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವಲ್ಲದೆ ಇನ್ನೇನು? ಕೇವಲ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ, ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಕಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. 

ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡ ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ರಸ್ತೆ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಒಂದೆರಡು ವರ್ಷ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರೂ ಕೂಡ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ವಾಹನಸವಾರರು ಪರದಾಡಬೇಕು ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಿಡಿತವಿಲ್ಲದ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಇಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಸಂಸದರು ಕೇವಲ ಹೆಣ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಅರ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಿಂದ ಒಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆದ್ದು ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ಸಂಸದರು ಈ ಭಾಗದವರೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಆರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಾರು ಎಂಬ ಆಶಾ ಭಾವನೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವರೂ ಕೂಡ ಕೇವಲ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಇವರ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕ್ಯಾರೆ ಅನ್ನೊದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಉಂಟಾದಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಉಡುಪಿ ಶಾಸಕರು ದಿನಬೆಳಗಾದರೆ ದೇಶದ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿಚಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಆದರೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರದ್ದೇ ಸರಕಾರ ಇದ್ದು ಒತ್ತಡ ಹಾಕಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೆ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಿಮಗೆ ಜನರು ಮತ ಹಾಕಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವರ ಬಳಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಒತ್ತಡಹಾಕಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಹುಡುಕಬೇಕಾದ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ? ಶಾಸಕರು ಸಂತೆಕಟ್ಟೆ ರಸ್ತೆ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸಂಸದರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಸಕರು ಜೊತೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಮನದಟ್ಟು ಮಾಡಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
