Cyber fraudster tracked down by Udupi Police, Cash of Rs. 1.56 lac seized

Print Udupi : In an online fraud case, Udupi District CEN police successfully tracked down a cyber-fraudster and seized Rs. 1,26,100 in cash.
Prashant Shetty, son of complainant Jaya Shetty, Belman, is employed abroad and has two accounts in Union Bank Belman branch. In the said two accounts having Paytm online payment system, between date: 10.02.2024 to date: 20.02.2024 some unknown person without the notice of the complainant’s son has gradually withdrawn from the above two accounts a total of Rs. 1,56,100/- by transferring and causing loss. Based on Jay Shetty’s complaint, a case was registered under 17/24 Col 66(D) IT Act at the Udupi CEN police station.
Regarding this, a team of ASI Umesh Jogi and staff Nilesh headed by Sen Police Station Police Inspector Ramachandra Naik went to Bairampur in the state of Orissa and gathered information about the accused. The cash deposited in the bank account by him in the said case is Rs 1,56,100/- entire amount have recovered. The accused in the case Vishal Konapala(30), son of Tulasi Rao Konapala of Ganjam District, Oriassa have been arrested.
