Chamarajanagar August 10: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he was always in favor with  the oppressed under the guidance of Rachaiah.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the memorial of former Governor B. Rachaiah

Rachaiah was  the most renowned politician  in the state politics. The CM said that he would talk less and work more for the poor.

Rachaiah, who was influential in Ramakrishna Hegde’s ministerial circle, had the ability to nurture  people-oriented politicians.. The CM recalled that Hegde and Rachaiah made him the president of the Kannada Kavalu Samiti and then made him minister.

If I had not become a minister then, I would not have been able to become the Chief Minister for the second time today. The CM then  criticized those who accused him out of jealousy.

Most of the Congress leaders in Mysore and Chamarajanagar district are mentored by Rachaiah. The CM said that he is also mentored by Rachaiya.

On the same occasion, the CM advised his son MLA Krishnamurthy to follow the path of Rachaiah, and said that he should always be in favor of the poor and should not hate anyone.

The CM said that today all of us are legislators, ministers and chief ministers because of the constitution given by Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Rachaiah walked the path of the Constitution. The CM added that Rachaiah is a role model for today’s young generation.

MLA Krishnamurthy has sought government assistance to set up an IAS-IPS training center at Rachaiah Memorial. He said that the demand will be reviewed.

The Memorial  has been constructed in Aluru village by Chamarajanagar District Administration, and Social Welfare Department. The  event was presided over by MLA C. Puttarangshetty, Chamarajanagar District In-charge Minister K. Venkatesh, Social Welfare Minister H. C. Mahadevappa, Law Minister H. K. Patil, Rachaiah’s wife Gouramma, MP Sunil Bose, MLAs A. R. Krishnamurthy and lleaders including HM Ganesh Prasad, MR Manjunath, Vidhan Parishad member Thimmaiah were present.

We ate leftover food . We didn’t have idli, dosa

We didn’t eat  idli, dosa, instead we had leftover food. The CM recalled those days when he mixed buttermilk with the leftover Ragi ball and ate. The CM also said that  there was no idli or dosa in Rachaiya’s house either, but became strong eating the left over food.
