Udupi, July 22 : Journalism is working daily as a link to respond to the aspirations of the common people in the society by constructively creating every dimension including the goings of the common people. Dr. K Vidyakumari said.
After inaugurating the Press Day by sprinkling water on the plant at Dr. G. Shankar Government Women’s First Class College and Post Graduate Study Centre, Ajjarakadu, which organized by Information and Public Relations Department, Dr. G. Shankar Government Women’s First Class College and Post Graduate Study Centre, District Administration and Udupi district Working Journalists’ Association, Dr. Vidyakumari said that Everyone should develop the habit of reading newspapers in their daily life. Newspapers work to provide information in every field including current news, political developments, and innovations in the world with clear authenticity. She said that through this, knowledge and information is reaching everyone.
For those who have a habit of reading newspaper every day, the day does not start without reading the newspaper. The magazine has created such a bond between people. But in today’s context, journalism is also trying to maintain its existence in the midst of electronic and social media, she said.
Most newspapers have suffered during Covid and are recovering post-Covid. Along with the daily information, newspapers are also providing the students with the competitive topics and also the topics required by the public, thus newspapers are working to deliver the news as per the expectations of the public.
Bhavya Nagaraj, English Language Lecturer of Government Girls’ Pre-Graduate College gave a lecture and explained in detail the way journalism has developed in the country and the state. Journalism is developing day by day. In the meantime, journalism has made its own mark in the society while facing many challenges, she said.
Journalism inspires to learn something new every day. Journalism has the power to inspire courage to face any challenge. She said that there are ample opportunities in this field, and not only those who have a degree in journalism, but also those who have the ability to think differently and have a good writing style can engage themselves in the field of journalism.
