Udupi, June 20: A rabid (mad) dog has bitten and injured eight people at Maruti Vithika in Udupi city this afternoon.
It is said that this dog, which was in a very emaciated state, bit everyone it met while walking on the road. It is said that the flesh of some people’s legs was also bitten and eaten. All the injured have gone to Udupi District Hospital and received treatment as outpatients.
Locals noticed that this dog, which came from somewhere other than the local area, was going crazy. The public noticed that this dog, which had bitten many people and was very tired, came and fell in the premises of the North School in Udupi. Udupi District Civic Committee Convener Nityananda Ukkadu immediately informed about this.
Nityananda Ulakkadu immediately informed the municipal councilor Rayappa and Praindaya Sangh(Animal Care Association) about this matter. The Municipal Commissioner and Manjula and Prithvi of the Animal Welfare Society who arrived at the place conducted an inspection. It is learned that the animal doctors was then called and the dog was given a injection and action was taken
