Udupi: Ashwini Shetty (47), the bar owner’s wife, who was seriously injured in a fire incident at the house of a bar owner in Udupi early on Monday morning, has died today in a private hospital in Manipal.
Her husband Ramananda Shetty died on Monday, June 15. Ashwini is survived by her son and daughter.
Ashwini Shetty was politically, socially and culturally active. She was the President of BJP Udupi Nagar Mahila Morcha. Bantar Sangh, active in the social arena, gained fame by presenting unique videos portraying the customs and ideologies of Tulunad.
A fire broke out in a house in Gandhinagar, Ambalapadi, Udupi early on Monday morning. Both the injured were admitted to the hospital, but they died without response for the treatment.
