Print Udupi, July 10: Given the health information about the spread of dengue fever, malaria fever, encephalitis, they should take precautionary measures to prevent mosquito breeding and prevention. According to the orders of the Health Ministers and the Directorate of Health, the District Malaria Officer Dr. Prashant Bhat said.
He was speaking at the Malpe Fishermen’s Cooperative Hall today in a program on taking preventive measures against the spread of dengue, malaria, chikungunya, encephalitis held under the joint auspices of boat owners, fishermen, women fishermen’s association, Cochin Shipyard Udupi and various other departments of the port.
Boat owners should install rope instead of tire as water stagnates in the tire installed in the boat and mosquitoes are generated. He said that the barrels used in the boat should be overturned and the environmental cleanliness of the port should be maintained so that water does not stagnate around the port.
The women fishermen were told to install lids or tadapples for the cement tanks where dry fish is prepared in the areas related to the inland and port department.
Dayananda Suvarna, Chairman of the Fishermen’s Cooperative Association, said in the meeting that 90% of the boats have been roped off and tires will be installed on the rest of the boats.
Udupi CMC Commissioner Rayappa presided over the program.
