   Udupi, July 04 : During the rainy season, there is a chance of spreading infectious diseases like dengue and malaria, so the surrounding environment should be kept clean. The stall owners should dispose of their water tank on the same day. Garbage, plastic waste and any other type of waste should not be thrown into the drain.

Keep clean around the house. Make sure that water does not stand in flower pots. Water storage containers should be changed regularly and if standing water is found around it should be allowed to flow easily.

As mosquitoes are produced from standing water during rainy season and many diseases affect the body, as a precautionary measure, for the sake of health, precautions should be taken while storing water in sources like cement tanks, stone slab tanks, drums, barrels, pots etc. Overhead tanks where water accumulates should be emptied and cleaned once a week.

Care should be taken not to let water stand around the house, shop front, useless tire, water bottle, broken bottle etc. As self-defense methods, mosquito repellants and mosquito nets should be used.  

  In case of any health problems including fever, visit the local doctor immediately and get proper treatment. The office of Municipal Commissioner has informed that by using only water that has been heated and selected for drinking, to take precautions to prevent any damage during the rainy season, to join hands with the Municipal Council.
