June 21, 2024: Being healthy is the need of the hour and Yoga is one such thing said Dr Vincent Alva, Principal on international Yoga day celebration in the college, a programme jointly organised by the NSS and NCC units in association with IQAC. Physical activities of human beings have been reduced drastically, hence the human health is on the verge of decreasing he stressed with utmost concern on various health issues. Being healthy is each one’s responsibility and not of the medical personnel that’s why Yoga has gained an international prominence he commented.
Mr Prakash Nayak from the Aayush Institute Udupi was the chief guest. He explained the concept of human physiology and respiratory system, and its maintenance. He conducted certain breathing exercises for the participants. Mr Pradyumna J, a PhD scholar from MAHE also joined the program by assisting in performing yoga through certain important Asanas.
Mrs Anupama Jogi and Mr Ganesh Nayak, the NSS officers, Mrs Rekha U, the college librarian, and Mr Ravinandan Bhat were present.
Mr Pavan Kumar from first year BA compered the program.
