World Plastic Free Day At Shirva St Mary’s College

Shirva: St Mary’s shirva NCC unit of the college in association with 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Udupi jointly organized the World Plastic Free Day on 05 July 2023
 
Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, President and principal of the college, said  today we are carrying even some small items from the shop in daily life using plastic bags. Throwing away such plastic material without recycling it causes many adverse effects on us and the environment.On the same occasion, Cadet Pooja Shetty who participated in the IDSSC-IGC camp held in Bangalore, cadet Sonali Kulal and Hulidra Khushi prize winners of Ek Bharath-Shresta Bharat camp held in Mysore was felicitated and pamphlets were distributed to the cadets about not to use plastic items.
He appreciated the NCC unit of the college for organizing such a good program also conveyed best wishes.

To prevent the negative effects of human activities on the environment and create awareness among the general public about various issues of environmental concern, youth should participate and strive to build a plastic-free environment said college NCC officer Lt K Praveen Kumar in his introductory remarks also he administered the oath taking and guided the organising the programme.
Lance Corporal Shettigar Hemashree Sudarshan gave an introductory speech explaining the main purpose and importance of the program.

St Mary’s PU High School ANO First Officer John william vegas, Lance Corporal Anish Bhat  and cadets were present in this programme. Cadet Vishal Terence Vaz and Alister Sujoy Dsouza assisted.  welcomed by cadet Kruthika and Adithi Acharya  proposed vote of thanks. Cadet Pooja compered the program.

ಶಿರ್ವ: ಸಂತ ಮೇರಿ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಶಿರ್ವ ಇದರ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಭೂ-ಯುವಸೇನಾದಳದ ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ. ಘಟಕ ಮತ್ತು 21 ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಬೆಟಾಲಿಯನ್ ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ. ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ವಿಶ್ವ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಮುಕ್ತ  ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು
   
ಇಂದು ನಾವು ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಅಂಗಡಿಯಿಂದ ಸಣ್ಣಪುಟ್ಟ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಚೀಲಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ತರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ.  ಇಂಥ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್‌ ವಸ್ತುವಿನ  ಮರುಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗದೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು   ಎಸೆಯುವುದರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರದ ಮೇಲೆ   ಅನೇಕ ದುಷ್ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳು  ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲ ಡಾ! ಹೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐವನ್ ಮೋನಿಸ್ ರವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ   ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಇಂತಹ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು. ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಂತ ಐಡಿ ಎಸ್ಎಸ್ಸಿ ಐಜಿಸಿ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ  ಕೆಡೆಟ್  ಪೂಜಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ,  ಮೈಸೂರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಂತ ಏಕ್ ಭಾರತ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಭಾರತ್ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜೇತರಾದ ಸೋನಾಲಿಕುಲಾಲ್,ಉಳಿದ್ರಾ ಖುಷಿರವರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಡೆಟ್ಗಳಿಗೆ  ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು  ಬಳಸದಂತೆ  ಕರಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ಮಾನವನ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಪರಿಸರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಗುವ ದುಷ್ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಸರ ಕಾಳಜಿಯ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಕವಾಗಿ ಅರಿವು ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಕರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಮುಕ್ತ ಪರಿಸರದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಮಾಡಲು ಶ್ರಮಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು  ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಎನ್.ಸಿ.ಸಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಲೆಫ್ಟಿನೆಂಟ್ ಕೆ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಕರೆ  ನೀಡಿ  ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ  ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಲ್ಲ್ಯಾನ್ಸ್  ಕಾರ್ಪೊರಲ್  ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಗಾರ್ ಹೇಮಾಶ್ರೀ ಸುದರ್ಶನ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಫಸ್ಟ್ ಆಫೀಸರ್ ಜಾನ್  ವಿಲಿಯಂ  ವೇಗಸ್, ಲ್ಲ್ಯಾನ್ಸ್  ಕಾರ್ಪೊರಲ್  ಅನೀಶ್ ಭಟ್,  ಮತ್ತು  ಕೆಡೆಟ್ಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಕ್ಯಾಡೆಟ್ಗಳಾದ  ವಿಶಾಲ್ ಟೆರೆನ್ಸ್ ವಾಜ್   ಹಾಗೂ  ಆಲಿಸ್ಟರ್ ಸುಜಾಯ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದರು.   ಕೆಡೆಟ್ ಕೃತಿಕಾ  ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ ,   ಅದಿತಿ ಆಚಾರ್ಯ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.   ಕೆಡೆಟ್ ಪೂಜಾ   ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು   ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
