Karnataka Congress for its time and again disgrace in providing an opportunity for a Christian candidate! - Dion D’Souza.

On behalf of the Christian Community, I strongly express my protest against the Karnataka Congress for its time and again disgrace in providing an opportunity for a Christian candidate!

The KPCC has been repeatedly ignoring the high representation and commitment of a leader like Ivan DSouza towards the party. The congress considering the Christians as a confirm vote bank has turned far from reality since many recent elections ranging from local bodies to the central.

The Christian community, though a minority, plays a major role in participating through free and fare elections throughout the country. Deeply attached and motivated by the pro people work and sincerity of the Congress Party, the Christians have always shown their favor towards the party. But, the decisions of Congress in ignoring Christian representation in the state has not just deeply saddened the community but also shows the negligence and ignorance of the party towards the Christian representation in politics!

What was the need for another Muslim candidate when there is not even a single representation of Christian community in the Upper house of Karnataka?

Aren’t the Christians facing problems from the present communal BJP Government?
Does the Congress feel that the Christian representation or votes do not matter in near future?

This high negligence can remain as a major setback for our Congress party and can set a major challenge to all the Christian leaders in the party towards convincing their people to vote for congress in the upcoming elections.
Considering the law abiding culture and the faithful Christian community votes for Congress as a confirm is very far from reality already, the Church leaders have already began asking their people to vote for whomever they want as the Congress has no monopoly over protecting the rights of the community, and if repeatedly ignored it can create a change of mentality towards their choice of the party. The younger ones have already started looking into other parties.

The faith is already low amongst the Christians with the Congress party by the repeated denial of the Christian seat in the Karnataka Government and if the congress party once again refuses to pose a strong Christian candidate like Ivan DSouza in the upcoming Rajya Sabja seat from Karnataka, who has been leading the people through the party and also the choice of the Community throughout the State of Karnataka, it will be surely hard to count on the Christian votes for Congress in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections as the faith in the party will be lost!
