Young Turk Arun Fernandes Elected as Vice President of Kemmannu Panchayat.

Kemmannu: 06 April 2022: Mr. Arun Fernandes, Member of Kemmannu Panchayat was elected  as the  Vice President of Kemmannu Panchayat at the election held today.

The election for the post was necessitated by the sad demise of late Mr. Nityananda Kemmannu, who passed away last year.

Arun Fernandes is a young social worker from Kemmannu, who is active in political circles since his young age. He is a second time member. A dedicated social who is just a phone call away for any residents in case of need.

He has also served as office bearers of several associations in church and society. He has served as President of Catholic Sabha Kemmannu Unit for 2 terms. He has also a active member of Sauharda Samiti, Kemmannu, Nirmal Thonse, a non governmental organization dedicated to clean  Kemmannu as as well as other service minded associations and organizations.

At the  Election held today, 3 candidates, Dr. Mohammed Fahim from Welfare Party backed  who had 5 members and abstained from voting, BJP backed member Purander, who had 6 members and Congress backed candidate Arun Fernandes, who had 9 seats fielded their nomination. Dr. Fahim withdrew his nomination at the last moment leaving a straight fight between Congress and BJP backed candidates

Mr. Arun supported by lone SDPI candidate secured 10 votes against 6 votes for Purander and declared elected by the  Election Officer.

Mr. Arun took charge of the office by garlanding the portrait of late Vice President Mr. Nitynanda Kemmannu.

Several top Congress local leaders, including Mrs. Veronica Cornelio, Mr. Raghuram Shetty, Mr. Rahmatulla Tonse, Mrs. Fauzia Sadik were  present on the occasion

Mr. Arun Fernandes is a self employed entrepreneur having his Event Management Firm  Sea Shell Decorators

Looking at his ability to mobilize things and go getting ability, he is set to have a successful tenure in the  office.
