Print MONTHI FEST - THE FEAST OF THE NATIVITY OF MARY at pangla parish
Udupi, Pangla, Sep 8, 2017: The Nativity of Mother Mary very popularly known as ‘Monthi Fest’ was celebrated at St John the Evangelist Church, Pangla on the 8th of September, 2017. As a preparation for the feast, Novena was started from the 30th of August. Every morning at 8:20 am, small children along with their parents brought flowers to be offered to Infant Mary.
On the Feast day at 7:00 am, all the parishioners gathered near the Grotto of Mary to offer the flowers. Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves Fr Lawrence Mendonca, Fr Ronald Fernandes, and Fr Royson Fernandes, concelebrated the mass along with the main Celebrant Rev Fr Vincent Coelho. The new corn was blessed during the celebration and distributed to every one. After the mass, sugarcane and sweets were distributed to all.
