Print Udupi : District Working Journalists Association staged protest meet on Wednesday, 6th September in front of the War Memorial, Ajjarkad here against the cold blooded murder of noted journalist Gauri Lankesh.
Speaking to Jaykar Suvarna, President of the Udupi Working Journalists Association said that we are strongly condemning the murder of noted journalist at Bangaluru. Journalists are living fear in the state. A journalist has been killed for having different opinions and views. The Police should nab the culprits and justice should be served. Meantime the protection for the journalists badly needed.
Senior Journalist and former President of the Association said that if any having different opinions should be answered with an expression rather than with bullets. It is not possible to constitutional independence destruction of the citizen of the country. The accused should be immediately arrested and journalists should get the justice.
Another senior journalist Deepak Jain said that the murder of noted journalist Gauri Lankesh has put the society into shame. We demand to arrest of culprits immediately.
Secretary Ganesh Prasad Pandelu, Treasurer Rajesh Shetty, Sports Secretary Nazeer Polya, district award winner senior journalist B. B. Shettigar, Ganesh Prabhu, Subaschandra Wagle, Manjushree, Ganesh Amin, Shashidhar Masthibailu, Umesh Kukkipalke and others were present.
