Udupi : Where there is  government buses needed at routes of urban areas will be studied, said Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi District.

She was speaking during district Regional Transport Authority meeting held at Zilla Panchayat Hall on Tuesday, 30^th August, 2017.

Shivaji Suvarna former President of Moodubelle Grama Panchayat said that due to Kaup becomes Taluk, the bus services between Kaup and Moodubelle needed for the convenience of the people.

Sanjeev Shetty said that the fair of government buses are less than private buses and public at large number taking advantage to travel in government buses in the district. The introduction of government buses were proven effective in Madamakki village and benefited the students at large also.

Some of private bus owners alleged that government buses running without the proper permit and also running without proper time table. So that the private bus owners get problems and requested the authority to solve the said problems. Replying to Dr. Sanjeev M Patil said that it would be necessary to keep bus route permit, time table and the route in the buses. Then it is easier to take action when illegally running the buses.

Meanwhile Priyanka Mary Francis DC told to KSRTC officials that the timings between the KSRTC and private bus operators should hold meeting at the bus depot to avoid problems between the bus operators.

Subramanya Bijoor said that the government buses have been failing to follow the timings and also these buses not coming to the bus depot. They are involved in the competition of the private buses timings which will cause the accidents. Jaishanth Kumar KSRTC Officer said that the bus drivers and conductors are given instruction to stop the buses at the bus stand and strictly follow the timings.

Suresh Nayak President of the Bus Owners Association said that due to introduction of the government buses, private bus owners are in the position of heavy financial losses. He said that the district administration should intervene and regulate the timings of government buses, otherwise it would be better to nationalize the private buses.
