Udupi:Four of the family commits suicide at Padubelle, near Shirva

Print Udupi : Four members of the family Padubelle near Shirva near allegedly committed suicide by consuming Cyanide on Wednesday, 12th July at night.The deceased include Shanker Acharya (50), his wife Nirmala Acharya (44), and daughters Shruthi (23) and Shreya (22).
Shankar Acharya was running a jewellery shop at Padubelle and according the sources, the incident took place in Padubelle where Shanker Acharya was residing with his family since 30 years. On Wednesday night all the family members prior to going to the bed consumed Cyanide. On Thursday morning none of the family members opened the door and neighbours sensed something wrong. When the neighbours and relatives knocked the door and did not get any response, then they opened the door.
The exact reason for the suicide is not known. The Shirva Police have registered the case. The bodies have been sent for post mortem and further investigation is on.
