Print Udupi : Poornaprajna Degree College students here staged a protest against the college management over the suspension of Economics lecturer of the college and boycotted their classes on Friday, 17th February, 2017.
Durgaprasad Maiya Economics Lecturer for B Com students has been suspended relating to the allegation of leakage of internal examination question paper. It is said that Sri Veshwapriya Theertha of Admar Math told to students of the college in regard to the suspension of said lecturer. Top body of the management explained to the students that the intention of the college is the betterment and welfare of the students of the college.
Meanwhile they allegedly told that they are looking into an incident in which 38 students who gave different answers for a question were given same marks by the lecturer will be not justified.
Dr. G. S. Chandrashekar, Secretary of the Poornaprajna College Management which is managed by Admar Education Council, who interacted with the students about the college development. The college is running very smoothly without any disturbances or any matter. The college is working for the students in regard to their studies. Dr. G. S. Chandrashekar wanted the lecturer to obtain proof about the claim that the lecturer had been suspended and advised the students against resorting to agitation based on some rumours.
Police have been deployed at the college campus. The students dharna inside the gate of the college held with large students.
