Udupi : Diocese of Udupi organized “Christmas Get – together" (Christmas Snehakoota) with media persons of Udupi on 21^st December, 2016 at Bishop’s House Hall.

The programme was inaugurated by Bishop Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo along with Ganesh Prasad Pandelu, General Secretary of UDWJA with cutting the Christmas cake.

In his message during the get together programme, he said Jesus present in everyone where on who helps other in difficulty. One can see the Jesus where do something for the needy. Christmas is the festival of love, peace and happiness. It is also the festival of independence, patriotism and morality. It is the feast which sharing happiness to others. He also said that the journalists’ role in media is great. The journalists of Udupi supported the diocese since its existence from the beginning. The festivals would be the occasion of sharing love, peace and joy to others.

Veronica Cornelio social worker who has won the CNBC TV 18 Sarthak Nari Award was felicitated by the Bishop during the occasion. After the felicitation she said Christmas is a universal festival which is symbol of peace and harmony. She wished all the journalists on the occasion of Christmas as well as coming New Year.

Ganesh Prasad Pandelu, General Secretary of Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association also spoke during the occasion and shared his Christmas wishes.

Earlier, Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa Public Relations Officer welcomed the gatherings. Michael Rodrigues, Media Coordinator of Udupi Diocese proposed vote of thanks. Rev Fr. Chetan Lobo Editor of Uzvaad compered the programme. Rohini Official of Information and Broadcasting Department was present. Kushwar was distributed to all the participants of the get together programme by the Bishop.
