Udupi : Under KUIDFC projects Rs. 320 crores along with Rs. 401 crores sanctioned to the Udupi Legislative constituency. Udupi, Malpe and Manipal bus stands to be developed, said Pramod Madhwaraj Minister in charge of Udupi District and also Minister of Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment.

Addressing with media persons at Udupi Press Club, Pramod Madhwaraj said that CRF works under Udupi Assembly Constituency for the year 2016/17 that improvement to Hosuru Sooralu-Peja Mangooru Road in Udupi assembly constituency of Rs. 7 crore. Improvements to Uppoor – Havenje – Kolalgiri Road of Udupi assembly constituency, Rs 4 crore, improvements to Ambagilu – Shivalli – Manipal Road of Udupi assembly constituency Rs. 4 crore, improvements to Santhekatte – Kemmannu – Paduthonse Road and improvements to Pethri –Cherkadi Road in Udupi constituency Rs. 4 Crores and construction of bridge across Seeta River at Horlali in Udupi taluk.

A water supply and sewerage improvements for Udupi Town that Rs. 35 crores for water supply and Rs. 50 crore for sewerage, for Kundapura Rs. 8 crore for water supply allotted.

Accordingly a revised proposal was submitted to government of Karnataka and the cabinet has appoved enhanced financial interventions for sub projects. It was also decided that the investments provided under AMRUT for Udupi city shall be converged to KIUWMIP and combined comprehensive proposal shall be prepared and implemented by KUIDFC/ULBs. The revised allocations are for Udupi town for dam at Shimbra Rs. 33 crore, water supply 101.20, sewerage Rs185.

He said that Udupi municipal areas may broadly be divided into 8 sewerage zones. The developments in these zones are decided to take up in 2 phases names Phase-1 and Phase II. Zone I to Zone 6 has been taken under Phase – which covers the areas Udupi city, covers Kinnimulky, Kannarpadi, Kadiuali, Volakad, Udupi town, Ambalpady, Ajjarkad, thenkapet, Siribeedu and Kalsanka. Zone 2 which covers Chitpady, Badagubettu, Kunjibettu, part of Volakad, Indira Nagar and Kasturi Nagar, Kadiyali, Bailur area. Zone 3 is which covers Manipal south area Saralabettu, Ishwara Nagara, Indrali, Indirnagar. Zone 4 issituated in Manipal North of the town which covers Mooduperampally, Saralabettu, Ishwarnagar, Manipal and Sagri. Zone 5 is situated in North of the city which cover Santhekatte, Gopalpura, Mudabettu and Subramanya Nagar area. Zone 6 is situated in west of the city which covers Malpe.

Proposed to construct 5 new sewage network about 142.60 Kms by using PVC pipes and RCC/NP – 3 pipes.

Asking with media persons, Pramod Madhwaraj said that KSRTC bus stand at Bannanje at the cost of Rs 10 crores allotted and work under progress for the new KSRTC bus stand. JNURM bus stand at old DDPI office will be constructed at the cost of Rs. 4 crores.

The conflict between private and JNURM city service buses time table will be sorted out at the earliest possible with the consultation of KSRTC officials.

Media men said that due to the fear of assault on drivers and conductors of JNURM buses, these staff not interested in running the buses, Pramod said that special meeting will be called to solve the problems.

Asking with the question from media persons on development of Udupi district Hospital, Pramod said that he was quite busy after the visit of chief minister Siddaramayya. He do not know about the MOU signed or not, but will look into the matter.
