Silicon City Kennel Club, Bangalore held Dog Shows

The Silicon City Kennel Club, Bangalore (formerly Mysore Kennel Club), in association with the Bangalore Canine Club, successfully hosted the 131st & 132nd All India Championship Dog Shows along with the 59th & 60th Bangalore Canine Club Championship Shows on November 1st and 2nd, 2025, at Esha Farms & Leisure, Yelahanka.  The event was inaugurated by Sri Sajeeth V. J., IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East Division), Bangalore City Police, who commended the organizers for promoting responsible pet ownership and fostering compassion towards animals. In his address, he remarked, “Events like these not only celebrate the beauty and discipline of dogs but also remind us of the importance of kindness, care, and commitment to our animal companions.”

The event witnessed the presence and active participation of Dr. R. Narendra, Secretary, Silicon City Kennel Club, Bangalore, Dr. Azeemulla, Dr. Nagesh Reddy, Vice President, Dr. Ramanjinappa, President, Dhanpal S. Gowda, Joint Secretary, and other dedicated office bearers, whose collective efforts contributed to the grand success of the championship.

From 9 AM to 5 PM on the lush green venue came alive with over 450 pedigreed dogs representing more than 50 distinguished breeds — from the majestic German Shepherds, Dobermans, and Great Danes to the charming Shih Tzus, Poodles, and Maltese. A special highlight of the show was the Mudhol Hound, Karnataka’s own pride and a native Indian breed that now serves with honor in the Indian Army.

The event drew a large and enthusiastic audience of dog lovers, breeders, and families, who witnessed a spectacular showcase of canine beauty, skill, and discipline. The competitions were judged by a distinguished panel of international and national experts, including Ms. Gauri Nargolkar (India), Mr. Shigeo Sato (Japan), Mr. Calin Horea Simu (Romania), Dr. Dennis Changwai Lim (Malaysia), Mr. Wellington Hochan Kim (Malaysia), and Mr. Sanjit Kumar Mohanty (India).

Speaking on the success of the event, Dr. R. Narendra, Secretary of the Silicon City Kennel Club, said,
“This event is a true celebration of the human-canine bond. We are proud to continue the legacy of our founders and promote responsible breeding, purebred preservation, and canine excellence in India.”

The Silicon City Kennel Club, established in 1932 under the patronage of the Maharaja of Mysore, remains one of India’s oldest and most respected kennel clubs. Its contribution to the revival of the Mudhol Hound continues to be recognized across the nation.
