Mother India Ex-Students Foundation - Third Annual General Meeting

Encouragement for education of ex-students children is essential: Surendra A.Poojary

Mumbai, Oct.14: The Mother India Ex-Students Foundation should implement a medical assistance scheme to ensure the health and well-being of former students. We must also make continuous efforts to provide financial aid for the education of their children. The activities of our foundation should serve as a model not only for all night schools in the country but also for all educational institutions, said Surendra A. Poojary, President of the Mother India Ex-Students Foundation.

He was speaking while presiding over the third annual general meeting of the Mother India Charitable Night School Ex-Students Association (Ex-Students Foundation), held on Sunday morning at the LIC Canteen Hall, Fort, Mumbai.

Founded in 1939, the Mother India Charitable Night School has a long-standing record of social service. To further extend this legacy, the Mother India Ex-Students Foundation was established in 2022. General Secretary Harish Maindan welcomed the members and read out the circular of the meeting. Joint Secretary Ashok S. Suvarna presented the minutes of the previous (second) AGM, while Treasurer T.V. Poojary placed the annual income - expenditure statement and audit report before the assembly.

The meeting also discussed arrangements and fundraising plans for purchasing a permanent premises for the foundation. All members unanimously approved the proposal. Fundraising Committee Chairman Manjunath Poojary stressed the need for collective support for this initiative.

Members including Mandar Hegde, Paul Mascarenhas, Jayaram Poojary (Vasai), Harish Poojary, Adv. Sundar J.Shetty, Sadanand Shetty, Satish Belchada, Sachidananda Naik, Shivananda Bangera, Ratnakar Poojary, Sitaram Devadiga, Dinesh Hemmadi, Babu D.Shetty, Shankar Shetty, Bhaskar Jathan, Ramesh K.Poojary, Vijay Poojary, Raghu Poojary, Panduranga Moolya, Suresh Poojary, Prasad Shetty, and Jayaram Poojary shared their views and wished for the overall progress of the foundation.

Vice President Yashavanth Poojary and Joint Secretary Jayaram Poojary.were on the dais.   Ashoka S.Suvarna proposed Vote of thanks.
