Report on Two Days Udupi District Level PU Athletic Meet 2024

Date: 29th & 30th October 2024
Venue: Ajjarkad District Stadium, Udupi.

The Udupi District Level PU Athletic Meet 2024 was held on 29th and 30th October at Ajjarkad District Stadium, Udupi, bringing together talented athletes from various Pre-University Colleges across the district. NJC Barkur proudly participated in this prestigious event and showcased remarkable performances in multiple categories.

The athletes from NJC Barkur excelled in various track and field events, displaying their dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit. Their hard work and determination earned them few prizes too and laurels, contributing to the overall success of the College in the tournament.
A glimpses our achievements:

Vijay of our NJC studying in I PU Arts made a record by winning Gold in Pole Vault with a jump of 2.80 meters which deservedly qualified Vijay to compete in the Karnataka State level representing Udupi district. Furthermore in the same event Deekshit of I PU Commerce won Bronze with a jump of 2.70 meters deserve special salute and appreciations for their fantastic show yesterday.

One more promising athlete Naveen from I PU Arts entered the closely fought qualifying round Javelin Throw event with his 47 meters. Our young boys’ team entered to the Semi-finals in 4X400 Meters relay too was not a less performance.

The competition provided a platform for students to hone their athletic abilities and compete at a higher level, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants. The winners from NJC Barkur brought pride to the institution, reinforcing the college’s commitment to encouraging sports and extracurricular excellence.

The President of the Management, The Barkur Educational Society, Mr B Shantarama Shetty, the Principal Prof U Kottraswamy, faculty, and students of NJC Barkur congratulated the athletes for their achievements and extended gratitude to the coach and Physical Education Director Mr Umesh Shetty for his guidance. With such a strong showing, NJC Barkur looks forward to future competitions with renewed enthusiasm and aims to achieve even greater heights.

The meet concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, where athletes were honoured for their performances, making the event a memorable experience for all.
