Print Free Eye Checkup Camp at Milagres College, Kallianpur, Udupi
Milagres PU and Degree College, Kallianpur, in association with Rotary Club Udupi, organized a successful ’Free Eye Checkup Camp’ on September 21, 2024. Dr. Roopashree Rao, renowned Cataract and Glaucoma surgeon, graced the event as Chief Guest. In her inaugural speech, she emphasized the main objective of the campaign and shed light on various eye problems, their causes, and prevention.
Rotarian BHF Gururaj Bhat T, President of Rotary Club Udupi, addressed the students and parents, stressing the importance of eye care, particularly among youth. He highlighted the need for awareness to prevent eye problems.
Mrs. Savitha Kumari K, PU principal in her presidential remark, expressed gratitude to Rotary Club for their contribution and Dr. Roopashree and Shree Hari Netralaya, Udupi, for conducting the free eye checkup.
The Science and Eco Forum played a pivotal role in organizing the camp. NSS volunteers actively participated, ensuring the event’s success. A total of 105 students and teachers underwent free eye checkups, and 56 members received free blood tests.
Prominent attendees included Mrs. Loyleeta Dsouza, Convenor of Science and Eco Forum; Mr. Ganesh Nayak, NSS Program Officer; faculty members from PU and Degree College; and Mrs. Roshni Rhoola Soans, Co-convenor of Science and Eco Forum, who skillfully compered the program.
The camp achieved its objective of promoting eye care awareness and providing essential health services to the college community.
