NSS program inaugurated at Milagres College Kallinpur, Udupi.

The NSS inauguration program, held on September 06, 2024, was a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the college’s commitment to community service and environmental conservation. Organized in conjunction with the Eco Club, the event was graced by the presence of Mr. Chiranjan K Sherigar, Assistant Professor and NSS Program Officer at Sree Poornaprajna Evening College, Udupi, who served as the chief guest. Following the traditional lighting of the lamp, Mr. Sherigar delivered an enlightening inaugural speech, elucidating the significance of the NSS logo and tagline. He emphasized the duties and roles of NSS volunteers, highlighting the benefits and gains that students can derive from participating in the program.

Mr. Anil Danthy, in his address, skillfully illustrated the symbiotic relationship between the Eco Club and NSS, using apt examples to drive home the point. He stressed the importance of environmental protection and the vital role that NSS volunteers and Eco Club members can play in this endeavor. Dr. Vincent Alva, in his presidential remarks, urged the volunteers to maintain discipline and dedication in their activities and programs under the NSS banner, emphasizing the need for a committed approach to community service.

The program was attended by esteemed faculty members, including Mrs. Shylet Mathias, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Commerce; Mr. Ganesh Nayak and Mrs. Shubhalatha, NSS officers; and Mr. Anil Danthy, convenor of Eco Club. Their presence served as a testament to the college’s unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of community service and environmental stewardship. The event concluded on a high note, with the volunteers inspired to work in tandem with the Eco Club to address environmental challenges and make a positive impact on society.
