Post Budget Reaction from Mr. Vikas Khanvelkar, Managing Director, DesignTech Systems Ltd.
1. No bad news is good news in this budget. There is no increase in service tax and Income tax. So that is a good news.
2. Reducing the corporate income tax to 25 % for MSME having revenues upto Rs 50 Crores will help MSME sector which is under challenging pressure to grow.
3. Increase in expenditure in Infrastructure projects will boost growth and will create more employment which government is aiming to achieve.
4. Reducing the IT slab from 10 % to 5 % for income upto Rs 5 lacs and simplifying the IT return form for them to one page is a relief to those people.
5. Encouraging digital and cheque payments and restriction on cash payments beyond Rs 3 Lacs will help curb black money.
6. Restricting the cash payments to political parties to only upto Rs 2000 will bring more transparency.
Post-Budget expectation quote from Dr. P. M. Bhujang, President, Association of Hospitals,
Writing to you on behalf of Association of Hospitals . Below is the Post -budget quote by Dr. P. M. Bhujang, President, Association of Hospitals. Would be great if you could incorporate the same in the budget story that you’re working on.
“Healthcare is one of the major sectors which requires additional focus in India as public health spending in India is one of the lowest in the world, an ironic reality is that public health systems are unable to utilize the meagre budgets allocated to them. Few points highlighted in the Union Budget 2017 for the healthcare sector like eradication of major disease like Tuberculosis, Measles, Kala Azar, and Filariasis is a major necessity. Also the provision of 1.5 lakhs health centres and health sub-centres to be created to improvise the quality service will surely help in the betterment of the healthcare sector if implemented and funded properly, says” , Dr. P. M. Bhujang, President, Association of Hospitals "
“Apart from the budget being helpful for the rural development; few concerns which should have had more focus were the infrastructure required in hospitals. If you check the statics there are hardly beds available for the number of patients in the hospitals. The number of nurses and doctors are also very less in private as well as government hospitals. The decision in opening new AIIMS in Jharkhand and Gujarat is a good step but only restricting to these two cannot match the number of doctors and nurses required in India”, he further added
Post-Budget expectation by Tamaal Roy, CEO, Biomatiques Identification Solutions Pvt. Ltd
“The Union Budget 2017 is a significant move to push digital payments. The biggest highlight from the technology perspective is the exemption of components from taxes to encourage domestic manufacturing of these devices by providing exemptions like BCD (basic custom duties), excise duties, CVD (countervailing duties), SAD (special additional duty) on miniaturised card readers and mPOS micro atms, finger print readers, scanners and iris scanners. The 2017 Budget has opened the doors that will allow people to avail long term benefits of digitalisation and make digital transactions more safe and secure. Incentivising Iris based authentication can go a long way in embracing the digital way of life.
Schemes such as Aadhaar Pay for people who don’t have mobile phones, cash back scheme for merchants, Aadhaar-based smart cards with health details for senior citizen etc will reemphasise government’s approach towards making India a more cashless economy,” said Mr Tamaal Roy, CEO, Biomatiques Identification Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Technologies for Skills Development
Vinay Pradhan, Country Manager- India, Skillsoft : “The Finance Minister’s announcement to set up skill centers across the country to help youth seeking opportunities outside the country is much appreciated. However, to achieve this proposal, the government cannot solely rely on traditional methods to develop skills. Instead, it should collaborate with the private sector to establish a robust technological infrastructure for learning and skill development. With this partnership, the youngsters, both working professionals and students in educational institutes, can have access to cost-effective self-education programs at the skill centers that have been proposed in Budget 2017.”
Below is the Post-budget quote from Ms.Vidushi Daga,Clone Futura.
Writing to you on behalf of Clone Futura Education. Below is the Post -budget quote by Ms. Vidushi Daga who is an Indian businesswoman, Founder and Director of Clone Futura Education. Would be great if you could incorporate the same in the budget story that you’re working on.
“Although the focus on skill development and implementation of quality education parameters by introducing the practise of measuring annual learning outcome in schools is a very good move by the government, but the main concern is that the entire focus was only on higher education. The base of having a systematic and future oriented education system can only be implemented by building a good platform for teachers to learn. Next is if the primary education system is not moulded, then eventually it is going to affect the higher education sector as well. There should have been focus on how digital education can be provided to the primary school students and teachers by providing some special counselling/awareness about cyber safety, latest trends in technology and education modules etc. All in all the budget does look promising when it comes to rural development, higher education and tax benefits but there could have been a better focus on the overall education sector”, says Ms. Vidushi Daga who is an Indian businesswoman, Founder and Director of Clone Futura Education.
