Akhilesh holds bow and arrow on the back seat, whereas Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is driving the chariot.
The posters also carry Samajwadi party poll symbol ‘cycle’ and slogan ‘Vikas Se Vijay Ki Ore Chale Do Maharathi’.
These posters appeared at Beniyabagh, Chetganj and other places in the city.
BJP facing internal unrest over tickets
BJP facing internal unrest over tickets.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing internal unrest over tickets to outsiders in UP and Uttarakhand Assembly elections.
As the party finalises tickets for the two states, BJP workers protested what they said leadership was giving preference to outsiders.
Some party workers raised slogans such as “don’t give ticket to outsiders”, “don’t give ticket Congress leaders”, “don’t give ticket to SP leaders” and “honour old timers in the party”.
Party workers were said to be from Noida, where name for one seat has not been declared. They were later escorted out of the BJP’s Delhi office complex by security guards.
The BJP also sent a general secretary to talk to agitated workers.
It is learnt that party cadres had staged similar protest outside the Houe of BJP president Amit Shah on Akbar Road.
The BJP central election committee is meeting on Thursday to release remaining names of candidates for the two states.
Reports of turbulance within the BJP is also coming from UP and Uttarakhand due to turncoats, who are influential in their own areas, are getting in nominations.
The party’s decision to feild candidates from Khatauli and Meerpur constituencies of western UP has not gone down well with local workers.
The party is also under pressure to give more seats to its allies Apna Dal and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party headed by Om Prakash Rajbhar – a leader of most backward caste having votes in eastern part of the state.
In Uttarakhand too, the BJP is repeating Assam where it had won polls by bringing in its fold prominent Congress leaders.
